If you don't like romantic comedies, you might not know that When Harry Met Sally is the very definition of it. It's funny. It's romantic. It's from 1989. Fans of romcoms have wanted a sequel for more than 20 years. And now they've got one. Best of all, it's a parody with Helen Mirren. And vampires.
Grampires: When Sharon Bit Harry takes place ... well, we're not going to give too much away. Let Billy Crystal give a little away, in this interview with MSNBC.
Crystal said the idea came to him at his grandson's first birthday party, where he was dressed in a little Halloween vampire outfit.
"I said, 'Oh, that makes me a grampire!'" said the 63-year-old comedian. ...
"Over the years we've talked about, 'Could we make a sequel?'" said Crystal. "And I always thought there was a chance to do something with them. And nobody wanted to get involved with it. Then this little idea hit, and it seemed like the perfect way to have fun with it and also parody the studio system, which is really frustrating at times."
Romcom devotees will be happy to see star Crystal, director Rob Reiner and the light touch that made the movie so adorable. Vampire enthusiasts will just love it.
Grampires: When Sharon Bit Harry was produced by Funny or Die. And it's safe to say that the short film is both funny AND dead.
