Tense new Arkham City trailer is made of Dark Knight win

In the 2009 videogame Batman: Arkham Aslyum, Batman saved the city of Gotham by preventing the Joker's escape. But as the trailer for the sequel shows, we won't be safe much longer: The upcoming game Batman: Arkham City will be five times larger than the prequel game, and that means five times more homicidal lunatics to contend with.

Superhero Hype writes:

Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new, all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.

Arkham City promises all the dark, sinister appeal of Arkham Asylum and more. Haven't you ever wanted to smoke-bomb some henchmen or spray them with explosive gel? Arkham City will let you live that dream. It also promises to use vertical space like the Assassin's Creed games, so expect to leap from some tall buildings in a single bound.

Arkham Asylum won multiple awards across the industry, from Outstanding Character Performance (the Joker, voiced by Mark Hamill) to Game of the Year. If the clip below is any clue as to what's in store for us on Oct. 18, 2011, developer Rocksteady Games might win a few more of those accolades for Arkham City.
