MTV has finally released a full-length trailer of its upcoming horror series Teen Wolf. Besides the frequent shirtlessness and the normal, hormone-filled teen angst (plus, you know, the whole werewolf-changing thing), we can safely say that it looks like it's gonna be nothing like Twilight.
With a look that's dark and mature, MTV's new scripted series Teen Wolf is a far grittier remake of the 1985 movie, which starred a young Michael J. Fox.
Looking nothing like the fun little '80s film, this Teen Wolf seems more of a cross between Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Vampire Diaries, sprinkled with a bit of Being Human for good measure. Add to that a dash of True Blood and voilà! And look—no sparkly vampires either. Yay us!
This is MTV's synopsis:
Scott was just a regular guy until one bite changed his life forever.
Now he struggles to understand who he is and what he might become. Is he more wolf than human - or is it the other way around? Whichever it is, it's not going to be easy. Scott will try to control his urges, but mostly he's scared that it's his urges that could end up controlling him.
TEEN WOLF is the story of Scott as he tries to walk the line between what he wants and what he can't help from wanting. Will the bite end up being a gift? Or will it be a curse? And what will it all mean for his relationship with Allison - the girl he can't get enough of? Only time will tell if he should embrace his newfound powers, or if he should fear them.
MTV's Teen Wolf will howl its way to our TV sets on Sunday, June 5, right after the 2011 MTV Movie awards.
What do you think? Will this new series will be a hit or will it suck? And will you be watching?
