Excelsior! Stan Lee to get star on Hollywood Walk of Fame TODAY

What do X-Men, Daredevil, Silver Surfer, Fantastic Four, The Hulk, Iron Man and Spider-Man have in common—aside from the fact they were created by Stan Lee? They've also appeared in blockbuster movies. Now Hollywood is thanking the Marvel Comics guru for his creativity with his own Walk of Fame star.

Lee has been working in the comic book industry since he was 18—he even became an editor at age 19. He has been celebrated with multiple awards from the comics industry, such as the Wil Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame and the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame. But this Walk of Fame star proves his appeal reaches further than that.

Lee told CNN:

"I'm pretty proud of the fact that some of the stories I wrote so many years ago are still being read and hopefully enjoyed by the public and people are making motion pictures based on them, and television series and even a Broadway show."

Of all of his creations, Lee's favorite character is Spider-Man "because he's the most popular and he's known and loved worldwide," he said. "But I really loved them all, and whichever one I was writing at the moment, that was my favorite."
