1st sexy, dark and brutal Camelot teaser trailer

We just had our first peek at Starz's highly anticipated series Camelot, and from what we've seen (and heard), it seems it will be more like The Tudors, and a bit less like that other Arthurian series, Merlin.

As it's on Starz, we knew that Camelot would be more adult than Merlin could ever be (after all, the BBC series IS a kid's show): Just take a look at all the sex in Spartacus: Blood and Sand (and its upcoming prequel Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, coming up on Jan. 21) and you'll know what we're talking about. And Starz DID tell us that sex would be integral to the new series.

Still, from what we can read from the Starz synopsis below, magic will still play an integral part in the series:

In the wake of King Uther's sudden death, chaos threatens to engulf Britain. When the sorcerer Merlin has visions of a dark future, he installs the young and impetuous Arthur, Uther's unknown son and heir, who has been raised from birth as a commoner. But Arthur's cold and ambitious half sister Morgan will fight him to the bitter end, summoning unnatural forces to claim the crown in this epic battle for control. These are dark times indeed for the new King, with Guinevere being the only shining light in Arthur's harsh world. Faced with profound moral decisions, and the challenge of uniting a kingdom broken by war and steeped in deception, Arthur will be tested beyond imagination.

And even if Camelot is being touted as more of a modern take on the old Arthurian myth, we'll also get our "Sword in the Stone" and our "Lady of the Lake," though not, apparently, as we've seen them before. But one thing's for sure, we're probably in for the kind of drama that King Henry VIII would be proud of.

So what do you think?
