Get a closer look at the movie that made a man out of puny Chris Evans, er, Steve Rogers—a frail nobody who'd become the human turning point for Marvel's version of World War II.
To me, Captain America: The First Avenger has always been something of a dark horse, as far as this summer's superhero flicks are concerned. Thor came out of the gate strong, maybe because it had the most conceptual hurdles to leap (frost giants and robots and hammers and gods?). Then X-Men: First Class dug in, despite those perfectly horrible posters.
But Captain America had but a wee teaser to show for it, to prove to us that Chris Evans and director Joe Johnston could deliver the goods. Until now.
The scrawny Rogers will take a bit of getting used to, but man, this hammers home the mythology of Steve Rogers very, very well. And watching him fling that shield ... Yeah, I'll be in my bunk.
