Go read: Marvel's trippy 1985 comic-book adaptation of Dune

Back in 1985, comics luminary Bill Sienkiewicz illustrated an adaptation of David Lynch's trippy version of Frank Herbert's sandy, superheroic saga. And 25 years later, the art is something to behold.

Written by long-time Marvel staffer Ralph Macchio, this lush chunk of story appeared in Marvel Super Special #36. It can get a little wordy—then again, the film it was adapting was as wordy as they get—but Sienkiewicz's art is positively stunning. He would go from this to illustrate Frank Miller's groundbreaking Elektra: Assassin miniseries the following year.
