5 webisodes you should watch before seeing Primeval season 4

Have you, like us, been missing Primeval? The series will finally be returning Jan. 1, and before you start watching the new season, there are five webisodes you MUST see before plunging back into the Anomaly Research Center's wild dinosaur adventures.

Serving as a bridge between the end of season three and the start of season four, the webisodes reveal that some changes concerning the ARC have been afoot ever since the disappearances of Connor Temple (Andrew-Lee Potts), Abby Maitland (Hannah Spearritt) and team leader Danny Quinn (Jason Flemyng). They also reveal the unseen fate of one other member of the ARC and its subsequent effect on yet another one.

Along with the return of Sir James Lester (Ben Miller) and Captain Becker (Ben Mansfield), we also see the introduction of the three new main Primeval characters: Philip Burton (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Alexander Siddig); the new shoe-loving field coordinator Jess Parker (Ruth Kearney); and the new team leader, Matt Anderson (Ciaran McMenamin).

Primeval returns on Jan. 1 in the U.S. on BBC America at 9 p.m. and in the U.K. on ITV at 7:30 p.m.
