12 strikingly similar posters spotlight a sci-fi movie cliche

When the Thor poster broke on the internets Thursday, we were astonished by two things: how rad Chris Hemsworth and his giant hammer looked and how familiar the image was. Here are 12 movie posters that feature a hero glancing behind him, or her, ready for action.

As New York Magazine points out, the hero checking his back-weapon-in-hand poster pose is big with westerns, like Unforgiven, and action flicks, like Shoot 'Em Up.
