Coming soon at Disneyland: Iron Man—the theme park ride?

With the news that Disney has snagged the rights to theatrically release The Avengers and Iron Man 3, it's only a matter of time before the Mouse House incorporates Marvel's characters into Disney's parks.

After purchasing Marvel Entertainment last year, Disney has finally gotten around to getting some of Marvel's movies out of Paramount's clutches, securing the rights to release The Avengers on May 4, 2012, and Iron Man 3 on May 13, 2013. But buried in the statement from Disney's chairman, Dick Cook, was the following phrase:

"In completing this agreement, Disney will leverage these two highly anticipated films across the multiple global platforms of the Walt Disney Co."

Given the insane profitability of Disney's Florida and California theme parks, you can bet your britches that someone's working on a state-of-the-art attraction that'll be ready by 2012. (We've no idea what this could potentially mean for the $1 billion Marvel theme park in Dubai that was announced last year.)

And I can't be the only one who'd wait on line for hours to hop on a 3-D motion simulator ride where I get to be Iron Man, flying into battle alongside Cap, Thor and Hawkeye.
