Getting hit by a meteorite is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, wouldn't you say? Well, maybe for you or me, but not for Radivoke Lajic, whose house has been hit by space rocks an unbelievable SIX times! We do believe it, though, because scientists at Belgrade University have confirmed that all of the rocks actually are meteorites.
But as for what Lajic makes of the meteor strikes that always seem to occur when it rains ... that's not quite as believable. The 50-year-old resident of the village of Gornji Lajici in northern Bosnia thinks E.T.s are holding a grudge against him for some reason.
"I am obviously being targeted by extraterrestrials," he said. "I don't know what I have done to annoy them, but there is no other explanation that makes sense. The chance of being hit by a meteorite is so small that getting hit six times has to be deliberate."
Lajic, whose home was first hit by a meteorite in 2007, has had to reinforce his roof with steel to prevent further damage from a strike—steel bought with money earned by selling one of the meteorites to a university in the Netherlands.
"I have no doubt I am being targeted by aliens," he said. "They are playing games with me. I don't know why they are doing this. When it rains I can't sleep for worrying about another strike."
Scientists are studying the magnetic fields around his property to see if they can find an explanation for the frequency of the strikes—but what do YOU think is going on here? Because we're not buying the alien theory.
