Maybe the reason so many people find Robert Pattinson so persuasive as a vampire on the big screen is that he turns out to be related to one in real life. And not just any vampire—the most famous vampire of them all.
According to the genealogists at Ancestry.com, the Twilight star is related to the Transylvanian leader who inspired the main character in Bram Stoker's Dracula—Vlad the Impaler.
Pattinson and Vlad III Dracula are relatives due to their relationship with the British royal family. Pattinson is distant cousin to Prince William and Prince Harry, while Vlad the Impaler was their distant uncle, the Associated Press reported.
But Pattinson isn't the only Twilight-related personality related to Vlad the Impaler. Stephenie Meyer, author of the Twilight series, is also related to the princes and therefore to Dracula as well.
