Guess which "aging franchise" is on track to return?

Cue Patricia Arquette jerking awake from one of her crazy dreams—only this time, her vision is anything but a nightmare. Medium, currently in its second season on CBS and its seventh season overall counting its earlier run on NBC, seems likely to be renewed.

The supernatural procedural that NBC exec Ben Silverman called "an aging franchise, without a single fan letter, with no passion" when he passed on another season of the series, saw its ratings jump 29 percent in 18-49 on Friday vs. the previous week and ranked as CBS' top program of the night with a 1.8 demo rating and 7.1 million viewers overall.

While the network hasn't yet made a final decision, according to Deadline Hollywood, there's been some renewal chatter over the past couple of days and signs point to a second season of Medium on CBS.

If Alison Dubois and her family return for more psychic crime-solving, will you be tuning in?
