Stars Wars + steampunk + samurai = awesome!

Is there anything Star Wars DOESN'T mash up amazing well with? Two online artists have proven once again that the answer is a resounding no!

Artist Steve Bialik has been remixing the Lucas universe with ancient Japan in a series of drawings he calls "Samurai Star Wars" over on his blog—and since there'd never have been A New Hope without Akira Kurosawa's samurai flick Hidden Fortress (you can look it up), it makes perfect sense to us!

Meanwhile, a custom modeler who goes by the name of Siloff has reimagined all of the central Star Wars characters in "antiquated Victorian style," and shares the stunning results.

Make sure to check them both out for more examples of mashed-up Star Wars goodness!
