Our story: Ultimate sci-fi TV pilot guide: Your favorite shows of the future

Your best comment: What ever happened to the good old days when a show was described as "Star Wars meets Bonanza" or "a cross between Excalibur and Smallville." Now it appears to be "a cross between Heroes and Heroes," or "Eureka meets, well, um, Eureka."

With so much in the way of good original programming out there, why do they try to just churn out carbon copies?—islesfan

Our story: Sexy Tron Legacy teaser trailer: babes and light cycles!

Your best comment: I am having the same feeling I had when the first of the new Star Wars was showing up in teasers... except I am 98.99% sure that Tron Legacy will not break my heart like 'Phantom Menace' did!—bendroid

Our story: Christopher Nolan reveals his plans for rebooting Superman

Your best comment: I love reboots of reboots, can't wait for the reboot of the reboot of the reboot.—robeuax

Our story: Monkeys fly out of our butts: Wizard of Oz to be remade

Your best comment: What a brilliant idea!

We can follow it up with a "Gone with the Wind" update. Of course, we'll need to make the American Civil War a little grittier. The original portrayed it in a far too happy and lighthearted manner.

Or maybe a sequel, only this time, we start with Scarlet O'Hara's great granddaughter living in Poland in 1938 and Rhett Butler's a Nazi... I heard that "Inglorious Basterds" film did pretty well... anybody got Tarantino's number handy...?—Kardiac

Our story: POLL: Who do you think should play Captain America?

Your best comment: Just so they come up with someone who can carry the role with the right physical presence.

Captain America is not a suit of armor or an incredibly strong, yet somehow slender guy in a costume.
He`s supposed to be the pinnacle of physical development, and an imposing individual.
Doc Savage wrapped in the U.S. Flag.

I hope they 'get' this right....

Of all of Marvel`s characters, Cap is the only one meant to symbolize the U.S. That was a simpler goal to aspire to back in 1941, but that does not mean that the message is not just as important today, perhaps more so now than ever before.

Over the past decade, I`ve seen my country taken places that it never should have gone. The global image of the U.S.A. has faltered to the point where U.S. travelers heading overseas were advised not to wear anything that would identify them, or that might anger someone...like a U.S. Flag.

Sure, I know that my country is not perfect...
Hell, as far as I know, you will never find 'perfection' anywhere as long as human beings are involved.

But, y`know... For whatever flaws anyone would care to point out, the fact remains that the U.S. goes all out to help those in need. Be it famine relief or rapid response in a disaster, the U.S. is right there to help.

I`ve heard plenty of people complain about one thing or another about the U.S....and in some cases they are right to complain....but I don`t hear them acknowledging the GOOD of the U.S., and that is where they are in the wrong. You won`t see Osama Bin Laden making a video lauding the U.S. for it`s assistance to Haiti....But then, I haven`t heard of Al-Qaeda doing much to help, have you ?

Captain America, while just comic book fiction, is an ICONIC character . So too are other comic characters, but 'Cap' is special because he is intended to personify a nation. He`s not ' Batman' or 'Spider-Man', he`s Captain AMERICA.

As someone once told Steve Rogers in an issue: "Lot`s of people fight evil, but your`re the only one who does it solely for The United States Of America"

I hope there`s someone on the movie production who understands this.—PALADIN

Our story: An expanded version of Avatar could come this summer

Your best comment: Ever since Rex Harrison in 'Doctor Dolittle' beat out Richard Burton and Peter O'Toole in 'Becket' for best actor Oscar I'm convinced the Academy is run by dolts.—danmac

Our story: UPDATED: Krasinski NOT Captain America; search expanded

Your best comment: This movie is going to make HOWARD THE DUCK look good.—MadKat

Our story: Oscar snubs Farrah Fawcett: We don't, and here's our tribute

Your best comment: I remember Saturn 3. A dubbed Harvey Keitel, a nude Farrah, and one of the more terrifying designs for a robot (especially once it decides later on what it would like to wear for a hat).

Shame the Academy neglected her (and Bea Arthur).

But the greatest tragedy was Miley Cyrus' voice. I guess I've never actually heard her speak before, but, WOW, how can she be a singer with such a grating voice?—Gozer

Our story: We waited 9 years for a new Connie Willis novel. Was it worth it?

Your best comment: Don't believe I called him an imbecile. Thought I said that his review made him seem like an imbecile. The same way that the Sex Pistols didn't call the Queen a moron. They said that she was made into a moron.

Completely different.—duh

Our story: Forget Jennifer's body: We'll take NSFW Amanda Seyfried's

Your best comment:Runeshai: "Looks like she could assume Michelle Pfeiffer's perpetually-hot role in Hollywood. Presuming Michelle Pfeiffer ever loses it."

Who's Michelle Pfeiffer? ;)

But I do see the resemblance.—Skipper, Kowalski, Rico & Private
