OK, we get it now—Neil Patrick Harris can do anything

Because hosting the Tony Awards and the Emmy Awards, starring in a hit sitcom and channeling a singing supervillain apparently aren't enough for Neil Patrick Harris, the actor just signed on to star in Smurfs: The Movie, according to deadline.com.

But don't worry that Harris is having a fit of Avatar-inspired jealousy, because he won't be hiding behind blue makeup or CGI—he's taking on the role of the lead live-action character in this part-live-action, part-animated film.

The project, from Raja Gosnell, director of Scooby-Doo and Beverly Hills Chihuahua, will film in April, when Harris is on hiatus from How I Met Your Mother.
