Dark Knight writer could help reboot Ghost Rider

If you're a fan of the original Marvel Comics Ghost Rider series but were seriously underwhelmed by Mark Steven Johnson's 2007 movie version, take heart: Producer Mike De Luca tells Collider.com that he's moving ahead on a sequel/reboot based on a script by The Dark Knight's David Goyer, who may even direct.

"We have an outline that David wrote that kind of adapts his 2001 script into today's times with incorporating kind of an original idea of Nic's [star Nicolas Cage]."

The tentative title is Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, the site reported, and the good news is that Johnson won't direct the sequel, Eva Mendes isn't coming back as Roxanne, and the sequel will be like "pushing the reset button" on the franchise.
