Lost writers already developing a third Tron movie

Tron Legacy, the sequel to Disney's classic 1982 sci-fi movie, doesn't hit theaters until Dec. 17, but the studio is reportedly already developing a third movie, which would complete a trilogy.

Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, the Lost writers/executive producers who worked on Legacy, have already begun writing a third Tron film, The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog reported:

No details have been released because it is so early in the process.

Notwithstanding the question of whether the movie will be a hit, other topics to ponder are whether the sequel will focus on spinoff characters or center on a new adventure set in the "Tron" world. Insiders have suggested that Kitsis and Horowitz are working on a way to round the story into a trilogy.

Joseph Kosinski directed Legacy, which stars Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde, as well as returning original Tron cast members Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner.

There have been no deals with any yet to return for a third movie.

From what we've seen of Tron Legacy so far, we're pretty confident a third movie to cap a trilogy would be a good idea.
