Guillermo del Toro has posted on TheOneRing.Net that contrary to certain rumors that have been circulating, his two-film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit will not be filmed in 3D.

Taken star Maggie Grace may be joining Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in an as-yet-untitled SF-themed spy thriller for Fox to be directed by James Mangold, according to Hollywood Reporter. The SF MacGuffin is "a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source," which makes one wonder just what people have been pitching to Cruise as potential Mission: Impossible sequels.

Terry Gilliam's fantasy The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, the final film of Heath Ledger, will be released on Christmas Day after a premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September and a UK release in mid-October, ComingSoon.Net reports.
