Liam Neeson to become an Unknown White Male

Liam Neeson, who became an action thriller star in last year's Taken, is negotiating to star in Unknown White Male, the Dark Castle thriller that will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Orphan), Variety reported.

Joel Silver is producing with Leonard Goldberg. Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell wrote the script, based on the Didier Van Cauwelaert novel Out of My Head.

The plan is for production to begin in January.

Neeson will play a doctor who goes to Berlin for a medical conference and gets into a car accident. When he awakens from a coma, he discovers that his wife doesn't recognize him -- and she's living with another man who has assumed his identity.

Neeson, best known to sci-fi fans as Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: Episode I—The Phantom Menace, is now considered a bankable leading man in action movies. The plan is for him to film White Male after finishing The A-Team, to be directed by Joe Carnahan, based on the TV series.
