What Megan Fox has to say about her Jonah Hex role, and it's not what you think

Friday was all things Transformers for Megan Fox: At the film's press junket in Beverly Hills, Calif., Fox joined her co-stars and director Michael Bay in a press conference supporting the film's June 24 release. Still, she managed to slip in a plug for her upcoming role in the supernatural western Jonah Hex. While talking about the role of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and her rise to fame, she marveled at getting the chance to work with actors such as John Malkovich and Josh Brolin on Hex.

After the Transformers festivities ended, Fox stayed an extra few minutes to talk to a few reporters with more specific Hex questions. She confirmed that they are naming her character Leila. That had been up in the air. Leila, she said, is a prostitute and a twisted love interest for Jonah (Brolin).

We'd assume that Fox as an Old West hooker would be all vampy, but Fox said not so fast: Her Leila is not a sexy character at all. "It's pretty serious," Fox said. "It's the most serious thing I've done so far."

Jonah Hex is based on the DC Comic series about a bounty hunter who once encountered a supernatural villain. The movie has been developed with a greater slant toward the supernatural: Hex tries to prevent the voodoo resurrection of the Confederate army.

During the press conference, Fox had said she felt she didn't even deserve to be a part of a film like Jonah Hex and credits the Transformers film with allowing her the opportunity. Now she'll get to showcase her serious side, so you can get your mind out of the gutter.

Fox did not specify her length of screen time, though reports suggest her Hex role may be only a cameo, but if it's enough to earn the title character's love and change her entire public image, we're interested.
